Re: Civilian Organizational Reserve Recall Benefits

I applaud any company that gives a member of the Uniformed Services the difference in pay etc. However, under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA), Codified at 38 United States Code, Chapter 43, this is above and beyond what the Statute provides.

I am the Director, Veterans' Employment and Training Service, U.S. Department of Labor in Honolulu .Our Agency has oversight/enforcement responsibilities with regards to the USERRA Statute. We have a State Director in each State, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. This law was intended to treat the member as they have never left employment and ensures they are reinstated with no loss of seniority, status, or pay.

You can find the Statute by going to: www.dol.gov. Once there click on the a-z in the upper right hand corner. Then click the V and then click Veterans' Employment and Training Service. Our web page has a USERRA icon on it. once you click it you can read information regading the law, print the Statute and use our expert advisor. You can find my counterparts in the upper left hand corner under about us. Should anyone need assistance you can reach me at this e-mail or at work which is:

    hough-gilbert@dol.gov

I am available to answer questions shoud you need them. I can also provide you the name of my counterpart in each State.

Thanks for serving you Country in the Uniformed Services of the United States and God Bless all of us!
