Dropbox and PDFOnline

I've recently found two useful online utilities, Dropbox and PDFOnline.

Dropbox is an online file storage and share service that allows either public (everyone), private (just you), or granular (people you choose) access to files you store online. It can be accessed from any browser, but it really shines when you install its small Windows, Mac, or Linux client on your workstation. The client creates a folder on your Desktop or elsewhere that allows you to drag-and-drop files just like any other folder, but the files are stored both locally and online. If you use several computers on a regular basis, it synchronizes the Dropbox folders automagically. You get 2GB of online storage free, and signing up more people gets you more free storage; much larger storage capacity is available as a paid service. Very handy!

BTW, if you use the link above to sign up, you and I will each get an additional 250MB of free storage.

PDFOnline is great for quick PDF conversions on machines without full Adobe Acrobat or OpenOffice. Again, you can access it from any browser, and it will convert either web pages or documents into PDF files, either emailing them to you or allowing you to download them directly. It doesn't require any registration or signup, although I fully expect to get marketing material to the email address I used to receive the converted PDF file. It's only fair.

Note: I have no association with either of these sites other than being a satisfied user.
